Back to the early days of the automobile with the Diederichs from 1912
Summary
The Société des Automobiles Diederichs et Cie built just 60 vehicles between 1912 and 1914, all equipped with four-cylinder engines. Only a few have survived and document to this day how things were in the early days of the automobile. This report portrays a Diederichs Type LC Série 1 from 1912 and tells the story of the forgotten brand.

Cars of the early mobile era exude a very special charm. The technology is visible and audible, nothing is hidden. Even starting the car is an adventure, and driving it is anyway, even at the lowest speeds. The Diederichs from 1912 is no exception. Sometime in the nineteenth century, the Diederichs family left Alsace and settled in Dauphine to produce files for a wide variety of applications. They soon turned their attention to weaving fabrics with the help of mechanical equipment and manufactured the necessary tools. Whether out of an inventive spirit or necessity, the Diederichs developed a steam-powered tricycle in 1878, which was able to travel at 25 km/h and was useful for firefighting in the town of Bourgoin-Jallieu.
