Of the many cars that played a role in James Bond films, the Mercury Cougar is probably not one of the best known, even though it made longer appearances than the Lotus Esprit Turbo, for example. The first two generations of the Cougar were built for four years, combining sportiness with luxury and achieving high sales figures, to which the Bond film probably contributed very little.
