Summary
Between 1962 and 1966, the Jensen company built 499 examples of the C-V8 sports car with a Chrysler V8 engine and plastic bodywork. Peter Monteverdi, himself a sports car builder, imported the English coupés to Switzerland and even drove one vehicle himself. It is precisely this car that is described in this article and shown in many pictures, supplemented by archive photos and sales brochures.

Peter Monteverdi was primarily known for his own sports cars, but he was also a dealer, garage owner and importer. And so, in addition to importing Ferrari, he also included Jensen sports cars in his sales program. And this had a visible impact on his later Monteverdi sports cars. Peter Monteverdi, born in Basel in 1934, grew up with cars. His father was the owner of a successful garage in Binningen near Basel. It was therefore no coincidence that his son became a car mechanic and completed his apprenticeship at Saurer. He was just 20 years old when his father died, making him the owner of the garage. Sports and racing cars were his passion and he built a sports coupé, a Barchetta and formula cars, particularly successful Formula Junior monoposti, under the MBM brand.
