Summary
A sports coupé with the elegance of a Ferrari, an in-line six-cylinder engine and space for four people, not just for the highest earners? The air was thin at the beginning of the sixties. But that's exactly what the Fiat 2300 S Coupé offered. No wonder customers ordered like crazy and could hardly wait for their new darling to arrive. Delivery times of over a year were no exception. This article goes into the history of the pretty Ghia coupé and describes the impressions that you get when you drive one of these rare coupés today. The report is rounded off with many current and historical photos, two original brochures for the Coupé and the super-rare Ghia Cabriolet, as well as a sample of the characteristic engine noise.

Four saloon series had been introduced over the last few years, the oldest was also the largest of the four and was now due for replacement. To this end, the people around Dante Giacosa created a new modern in-line six-cylinder engine, which required new production facilities but offered production synergies with new four-cylinder engines.
