Summary
Not all Ferrari drivers wanted to stand out or speed around racetracks. For those who wanted to use their Ferrari in everyday life, the Maestro offered a 2+2-seater version with a simple, elegant body and high utility value from 1972. It was initially called the 365 GT 4 2+2, later the 400, 400i and finally the 412. The car was built almost unchanged in terms of bodywork for 18 years, and Pininfarina could not have been paid a greater compliment. This report tells the story of the 12-cylinder 2+2 coupé and shows it in historical and current photographs.

Not all Ferrari drivers wanted to stand out or speed around racetracks. For those who wanted to use their Ferrari in everyday life, the Maestro offered a 2+2-seater version with a simple, elegant body and high utility value from 1972. The Ferrari 365 GT 4 2+2 presented in 1972 could already look back on a respectable pedigree, which began in 1960 with the 250 GT/E 2+2. It was followed by the 330 GT 2+2 and finally the 365 GT 2+2, also known as the "Queen Mary" due to its sheer size. The 365 GTC/4, which was only built for two years, was presented in 1971. However, it was not a true replacement, as its fastback body offered rather limited space and was more like a spacious Daytona.
