With the Miura, Lamborghini had presented a modern mid-engined sports car and pissed off Ferrari in the process. However, the Commendatore did not respond with a similar concept, but instead launched the front-engined Ferrari 365 GTB/4 "Daytona" coupé on the market in 1968. The sales figures proved him right.
