BMW 507 - top-class touring two-seater in particularly powerful form (AR long-distance test no. 111) (ZQ)
Summary
In the summer of 1959, AR tested two versions of the BMW 507, namely the normal version with 150 hp and the modified version with 165 hp. The AR tester was very impressed by the car, praised its performance, but also criticized its controls and ergonomics. However, the BMW 507 proved that an above-average fast and safe car retains its superiority even in the age of convoys and congested roads. Moreover, it left a strong, lasting impression as an automobile of reliable character that truly belongs to the best performers among the two-seater fast utility cars for the highest demands.

A good half-dozen of them have been created solely to offer a select group of connoisseurs the maximum driving pleasure that can be experienced at the wheel of a sporty car. This exclusive small group includes the BMW 507, which was launched in the fall of 1955 as the top product of its brand and of which around 250 have been built to date.
