The coachbuilder Baur in Stuttgart built 57 two-door BMW 502 convertibles for wealthy customers for whom a normal BMW V8 saloon was too ordinary or not open enough. Around two thirds of these convertibles probably still exist, so they are rarely seen. This report briefly describes the history of the Baur convertible and shows an example in many pictures, supplemented by historical illustrations and brochures from the period.
