From 1985 to 1993, BMW built the convertible on the basis of the E30 three-series. Without a roll bar and equipped with a clever roof mechanism, the open-top 325i became one of the most popular convertibles of the 1980s and was so successful that most of its competitors had to follow suit. This driving report describes the 325i variant with the largest displacement and goes into its history, supplemented by many current and historical photos, as well as the sales brochure and engine sound.
