In 1950, the new Allard K2 was presented at the NY Motor Show as the successor to the K1. Sydney Allard's victory in the Monte Carlo Rally brought attention to the Allard brand and thus also to the vehicles. This vehicle report describes the history of the K2 and tells, among other things, about a test of the K2 at that time.

After the Second World War, the Allard name became increasingly well-known in the USA. This led Sydney Allard, founder of the Allard Motor Company, to devote himself to the distribution of new models on the American market. The early 1950s went well for Allard, who at that time regularly competed successfully in car races and rallies with his own cars. In 1952, the racing driver won the Monte Carlo Rally together with Wartburton in a car bearing his own name. This was the first all-British victory in 21 years, after Donald Healey had last won the rally in an Invicta. This victory increased public awareness of Allard worldwide.
