Next year, the rustic sports car once known as the Lotus Seven, which is still being built by Caterham and others, will celebrate its 60th birthday.
So it seems fitting that the small company Caterham in Crawley (West Sussex), which took over the license rights for the Lotus Seven around 45 years ago, is launching a nostalgia version, appropriately named the Caterham Seven Sprint.
Equipped with a three-cylinder engine with just 80 hp, the assembled Sprint costs £ 27,995, i.e. around EUR 33,000 or 36,000 francs, which seems like an attractive price. For this you get a rudimentary two-seater with 14-inch steel wheels and beautiful Smiths instruments as well as a Motolita wooden steering wheel.
You can choose between six nostalgic colors, and extras include a vinyl tonneau cover or a lowered floor. The whole package really almost looks like it's straight out of the sixties, only the headrests give it away as a new car.
