For 30 years, Lebenshilfe Gießen e.V. has been organizing a fundraising campaign for the benefit of people with disabilities. Günther Jauch has also been a supporter for many years. To mark this anniversary, he donated his lavishly restored Citroën DS 21. Probably no other model in the history of the automobile was so ahead of its time and at the same time so sensible as the DS, "the goddess": Hydropneumatics helped the car achieve astonishing suspension comfort, power steering, automatic clutch and high-pressure brakes as early as 1955. It was the first mass-produced car with disc brakes. You can win this "goddess" from 1971.
Great prizes
In addition to the Citroën DS, there is also a Porsche 911 SWS Turbo 400 from 1982, an Oldsmobile 98 from 1955, an Opel Olympia from 1951, an MGB GT from 1973, a Jaguar XJS as a convertible from 1989, a Fiat Topolino Belvedere from 1954, a Fiat Neckar 1100 from 1968, a VW Beetle 1302 L from 1971, a Mercedes-Benz 260E 4Matic from 1987, a Mercedes-Benz 240 D 3.0 from 1976, a Mercedes-Benz SLK 200 Kompressor from 2003, a Moto Guzzi 1000 California II from 1986 and a truly impressive American La France Firetruck L 700 from 1952. There are also other smaller prizes.
The whole thing is for a good cause, but if the donation is also linked to a chance of winning, the whole thing is of course even more fun.
Donations can be made directly online on the classic car donation campaign website. But only until January 20, 2025, after which the winners will be chosen.
For people in need
Lebenshilfe Gießen e.V. supports over 3,000 people with disabilities and mental illnesses and maintains facilities such as children's and family centers, youth welfare facilities, schools, workshops, advice centers and homes. The classic car donation campaign is an important contribution to financing these projects.
Many thanks to all those who donated vehicles.
