From June 7 to 9, 2024, Friedrichshafen will once again host the popular classic car trade fair "Klassikwelt Bodensee". Dealers, specialists and clubs will be offering their services, with special shows celebrating the past. And historic racing cars and motorcycles will be doing the rounds around the halls.
The real dealer mile
Digitalization does not stop at anyone. Not even the vehicle trade. Digital platforms are booming. New cars can soon only be ordered online. But many classic cars are also traded via digital platforms. However, not everyone wants to blindly buy their classic car online. Pictures can be just as fake as anything else on the digital platform.
Classic car fairs are therefore still the first port of call for those who want to inspect the technology of their dream classic car "in the flesh" before buying it. Over a hundred classic cars from dealers and private owners will once again be on display in exhibition halls B2 and B3 and in the private sales area.
Active clubs
Classic car clubs are the most important pillar of the classic car scene. Without the idealists and specialists in the clubs, many classic cars would only be on display in museums - if at all. The clubs have strengthened the image of their brand over many decades. And we continue to provide them with free stand space to support their work.
Around 100 brand clubs will take part in Klassikwelt Bodensee alongside 2024.
An exciting lecture program
The topic of patina is a recurring theme in the classic car scene. For many years, attempts were made to give classic cars the status of new cars. However, this view has now changed considerably: The current premise is to preserve the original condition or substance of the vehicle as far as possible and only replace those parts that can no longer be restored even without the greatest effort. Today, a classic car with a traceable history can proudly bear the visible signs of its long life. The lecture program on the Deuvet stage in Hall A5 will also answer questions on the highly topical subject of "What is original, what is a replica...?".
Many special shows
In the West Foyer, 25 beautiful and in some cases very rare cars from Germany, France, England, Italy, the USA, Japan, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Spain and Switzerland will be on display. But the era when Germany was still divided has also been remembered. Please forgive us for the fact that not every classic car fan will find "their" favorite classic here. But the cross-section of vehicles we have shown will delight every classic car fan who is open to all brands.
This special show in Hall A3 features the milestones of the white-blue brand. From the Dixi to the M1, there is hardly a model missing that has contributed to the worldwide legend of the BMW brand. Four exclusive E 30s from the Wundercar Collection will also be on display.
Also in Hall A3 are 15 classic aircraft, from the Klemm 25 with a BMW radial engine to the legendary Me-109
With the special Youngtimer show, we are presenting vehicles that have the potential to become classics but are still a little green behind the ears. Once again, Klassikwelt Bodensee is opening up to a young audience. Several times a day, the cars on the stand in Hall B3 will be presented by youngtimer specialist Alf Cremers.
All those of us who experienced the seventies live and in "full" consciousness will enjoy this special show. Those who were still in diapers back then will probably do the same. After all, hardly any other decade was as quirky and, above all, wilder than the seventies with their brightly colored design and style icons.
At the special "Modern Classics" show, motorcycle innovations in classic dress will be on display in the immediate vicinity of the legendary London biker hangout, the ACE Café. These vintage-style bikes are still very popular. They look like a classic, but "hide" the technology of a new and modern motorcycle underneath. True to the motto: Looks like a classic - runs like a modern. BMM is also the sponsor of "Modern Classics" this year.
Vintage demo racing
When over 250 classic racing cars on two, three and four wheels do fast laps on the 1.6-kilometer circuit, older racing fans will be reminded of the "Glory Days of Racing". Younger ones will recognize with a little envy what was possible in the past, just like at the special show "The Wild Seventies".
As a unique classic car event, Klassikwelt Bodensee offers both the professional trade fair atmosphere in the modern exhibition halls and the pure live feeling at sparkling events in the outdoor area. When the Zeppelin NT accompanies a breathtaking airshow from 2.30 pm and the aerobatic Bo-105 helicopter of the Flying Bulls conjures up its figures in the sky, it becomes clear why Friedrichshafen is known as the cradle of aviation.
The ADAC Oldtimer Parkarena and private sales
The Oldtimer Parkarena is the heart of Klassikwelt Bodensee. Where else can visitors park their classic cars free of charge right in the middle of the exhibition grounds? At the same time, they are part of the exhibition. However, sales signs are not permitted in the Parkarena. For the first time, the ADAC is giving its name to this unique parking arena.
Classic car owners who want to sell their gems can apply for a sales space in Hall B4 until shortly before the trade fair.
Further information can be found on the Klassikwelt Bodensee website.
