The city of Rome exempts historic vehicles from environmental zones thanks to the ASI On October 30, 2024, the Mayor of Rome issued decree no. 122 exempting historic vehicles from the new traffic restrictions in the "Green Zone" (LEZ). This achievement is a direct result of the persistent efforts of the ANF Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI) of the FIVA to protect and promote historic vehicles.
Preservation of the automotive heritage
The new decree exempts vehicles of historical interest and collector's items as defined in Article 60 of the Italian Highway Code, as well as mopeds over 30 years old with a certificate of historical importance, from traffic restrictions in Rome. "This is an important step for the preservation of automotive heritage," said ASI President Alberto Scuro, pointing out that these vehicles account for only 0.29% of traffic in Rome.
An important milestone
The success of ASI in Rome is an important milestone for the recognition of historic vehicles and for our right to circulate in European cities, as we contribute to cultural heritage and the environmental impact of historic vehicles is negligible.
