Only four Bugatti Type 57 Atalante with sunroof were built, one of which will go under the hammer at the Artcurial auction at Rétromobile Paris on February 3, 2023.
The announced Bugatti, built in 1936, is not only rare, but also has a really exciting history. At the time, it took part in some of the most famous racing events, including the Monte Carlo Rally, the Liège-Rome-Liège Rally and the Rallye des Alpes.
After the Second World War, M. de Lay used it as a means of transportation in the Congo and fled with it during the civil war.
Since then, the Bugatti has belonged to various collectors. In the 1990s, it was finally restored to its original specifications.
Now the Bugatti is once again looking for a new owner and can be expected to do so along with many other attractive collector's vehicles when the hammer falls again at Artcurial at the Rétromobile Paris on February 3, 2023.
Further information on the upcoming auction will be available regularly on the Artcurial website.
