Description
Our history
Time flies and we have now been in existence for 90 years.
Founded by Herrmann and Mathilde Kühner, it was one of the first petrol stations in the area.
In addition, the nearby NSU factory in Neckarsulm began trading in sewing machines and NSU bicycles.
At the beginning of 1950, daughter Hilde and her husband Heinz Koch moved the business to its current location on the outskirts of Kirchhausen.
of the village of Kirchhausen.
This allowed the business to expand and grow and the petrol station was also relocated here.
Hilde's parents opened the "Löwen" restaurant with guest rooms on the same site.
Heinz Koch had been a motorcycle racer for NSU for many years and now brought this passion into the company.
The Koch company expanded to include a motorcycle dealership with NSU motorcycles.
Later, brand contracts with FIAT, LANCIA and FERRARI were added.
But the next generations also meant changes; and so Horst Koch, son of Heinz and Hilde, took over the family business in 1983 and added the motorcycle trade with MottoGuzzi.
In the meantime, he also converted 250 FIAT Pandas into convertibles, as well as a 6-wheeled Panda.
Horst Koch had been passionate about the Italian brands since his birth, but when the regulations of the factories took too much influence on his freedom as a self-employed person, he terminated all contracts in 2000 and gave up all brands.
He now benefited from the fact that he had been an enthusiastic classic car fan and driver for a number of years and had also learned how to wrench.
Horst Koch had already built up contacts and friendships in the classic car and pre-war scene in the 90s,
which he quickly succeeded in doing with his LANCIA Stratos, FIAT 8V "OTTO VU" and his BENTLEY 4 1/2 Litre.
He converted the dealership into a classic car dealership with a workshop, which seemed quite daring at the time.
The name Koch-Klassik Automobil GmbH was born.
From today's perspective, this was probably the only right decision in the situation at the time.
After all, it has now been 20 years as a pure dealer for classic and collector cars.
The marriage of Horst and Helga Koch resulted in daughter Linda,
who joined the company in 2018 and thus represents the 4th generation and the future.
