This black streamlined coupé is probably the most famous of all 36 Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport cars ever built. Chassis number 110105 was designed by its first owner and took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans five times with two different bodies, finishing four times. This article tells the story of the Chambas coupé, which has been known in full since it was delivered, and shows it in current still photos as well as in historic racing use.
On the occasion of the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este 2011, those present were able to experience a sensational premiere: The Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport coupé with chassis number 110111, which was fitted by Saoutchik in 1948 and has not been shown anywhere for 20 years, was presented to the astonished audience in its original color as probably the most original Talbot-Lago ever.
The barn find that was recently made in the west of France was a sensation. Among the long-lost vehicles was a unique Talbot-Lago T26 Record with Saoutchik bodywork from 1948 with an exciting history stretching back to Egypt and Cairo. It is one of the three Saoutchik finds from Roger Baillon's collection. This vehicle report tells the interesting story of the second Saoutchik barn find from the Baillon collection.
