The Saab 900 was an exceptional phenomenon, as a five-door estate coupé and with a turbo four-cylinder engine anyway. That's why it was loved by avant-gardists, architects and dissenters in general. They could also afford the hefty sales price, because calculated per cylinder, the Saab was one of the more expensive cars on the market. From 1986 to 1994, Saab built the Saab 900 Cabriolet with four-cylinder engines, which were equipped with or without turbochargers. Almost 50,000 units were sold, and Americans in particular were obsessed with the Swedish convertible. Thanks to four full-size seats and a weatherproof soft top, the car was suitable for use all year round and, thanks to the good build quality, this is still the case today.
