The Heemstede-based company was headed by racing driver Maurice Gatsonides, who produced his first vehicle, the Kwik, in 1938. Series production of cars began in 1948 and ended in 1950. A total of 10 to 13 examples were produced. The brand name of the post-war vehicles was initially Gatford, but after objections from Ford it was changed to Gatso.
