The Ford Mustang is probably the best-known American sports car, even though it is not actually a sports car at all. It is repeatedly voted the most popular American classic and every child knows it. In 2014, the series Mustang will be 50 years old and this will be celebrated with the sixth edition, reason enough to take a closer look at the previous five generations. With the third generation of the Mustang, Ford left the dark seventies behind. The wheelbase grew, the bodywork smoothed out and the engine power slowly rose back to pre-oil crisis levels. With the right accessories, the 225 hp of the most powerful production model was by no means the end of the line. Drive in a V8 convertible with retrofitted supercharger.
