From 1987 to 1992, Ferrari built 1315 F40 super sports cars. Although designed as a road vehicle, the fastest production car at the time was oriented more towards racing cars than comfort. This report portrays the Ferrari F40 in detail, showing the car in every detail in over 150 pictures and in both road and racing versions. 1315 Ferrari F40s were built in Maranello from 1987 onwards; today they are classics and are traded at high prices. They are real driver's cars that show you how driving worked in the analog age. Few cars of the 1980s have been written about and talked about as much as the F40. So do we need another report on this mid-engined sports car? Probably not, which is why we tackled it from a different angle in our driving report.
The predecessor Ferrari F40 was regarded as rough, somewhat uncouth and technically not necessarily state of the art; moreover, at over 1300 units, far more than the announced 400 cars were built. The F50, on the other hand, fulfilled Ferrari's promise in terms of both technology and the promise to build no more than 350 cars - and even more. This is also reflected in the fact that it is extremely sought-after today.
