In 1957, Bill Devin, an American car manufacturer and racing driver, seized the opportunity to build his own large-volume sports car. The performance figures of the Devin SS put almost all comparable competitors in the shade. However, the project was not a commercial success and only 15 vehicles (and three kits) were sold by 1959. Today, the Devin SS are sought-after classics and are among the fastest in their class in historic racing. This report tells the story of the Devin SS and shows one of the last examples built in detail.
