The BMW 303, built in 1933 and 1934, was a pioneering achievement. For the first time, BMW produced a six-cylinder, and for the first time, the BMW "kidney grille", which has been present on (almost) all BMW automobiles ever since, adorned the front of the car. The ascent into the middle class was complete.
