Installing the drive technology from a racing car in a road-going sports car has been attempted time and again. Over 60 years ago, the Maserati 5000 GT was created in Modena with the engine from the 450 S. Can this early super sports car be compared with the modern AMG One with F1 drivetrain and what has changed? This article looks at the two projects and their results in words and pictures.
