zwischengas.com is the first media company to take an important step to support the promotion of digital documentation of classic vehicles. Effective immediately, "Zwischengas" is registered as an official company on "The Motor Chain" platform and can help to supplement and verify documentation of vehicles.
Why did Zwischengas choose "The Motor Chain"?
Basically, any kind of documentation is of great value for a vehicle, even dusty documents in a folder somewhere are of course better than nothing. In the age of digitalization, however, we see a great advantage in having the documentation available digitally. It is much quicker to show people an excerpt from the history of a classic car without a potential buyer having to travel far to see it.
However, the danger of digital documentation is that, as in the real world, forgeries can also occur, e.g. if someone tries to manipulate a photo of an invoice years later using Photoshop. In this respect, it doesn't really make sense to simply store digital documentation on your computer, nor does it make sense to store it on an Internet platform where the data is stored centrally in a traditional database. Why? Because anyone who has access can change this data, quite legally. There are already a few platforms like this in Germany and Switzerland, but we don't consider them secure enough and have therefore not given them our support.
Why is "The Motor Chain" different?
The magic word is blockchain. "The Motor Chain" is also a central platform on which data is uploaded and stored, but the difference to all non-blockchain-based platforms is that if a change (e.g. a new invoice) is definitely saved for the documentation of a classic car, nobody, not even the operators of "The Motor Chain", can change this data because it has been immortalized on the blockchain in a signed and unchangeable transaction. Zwischengas has therefore decided to support this form of documentation.
You can imagine the blockchain as a book that is maintained by several hundred people: if something new is to be immortalized in the book, all one hundred people must agree to it. These reviewers are also vigilant at all times when it comes to changes in the book. If one of these reviewers writes or changes something in the book without the agreement of all the other reviewers, the change will be discovered immediately and will not be included in the book.
For clear, unambiguous documentation of all classic cars
Every person registered on The Motor Chain can only see their own data, usually just the digital documentation folders of their own vehicles. However, you can invite other people to view this data. Or you can invite other people or companies (such as specialists or "Zwischengas") to create a new entry in the documentation. A specialist who carries out a gearbox service, for example, can then enter this service and document it precisely using a description and a photo of the invoice and other documents. Once the entry is marked as final, no one can change it again, forever and ever. This automatically creates a detailed digital history of a particular vehicle.
How do you start digital documentation of your classic car?
The best way is to contact the managing director of The Motor Chain directly , Julio Saiz. Zwischengas can support the documentation with technical data, pictures, brochures, etc.
