Stella 1906-1913 - CIEM successor stamp
Summary
There were around 10,000 car brands and designers - most of them have disappeared. The Swiss brand Stella is one of these vanished brands. From 1906, the CIEM brand built cars and commercial vehicles under the Stella brand. Soon, however, the company was in the red, and so it limited itself to the electrical engineering division.

The Compagnie de l'Industrie Electrique et Mécanique = CIEM in Geneva-Sécheron built its passenger cars and commercial vehicles under the Stella brand from 1906. The 3054 cc four-cylinder engine built into a sheet steel chassis frame worked with automatic carburetors and Bosch ignition. It excelled in races and achieved export success in England. The 1908 models were fitted with twin-jet carburetors: the smaller jet up to 400 rpm, the larger one up to 1500 rpm. Also new were the centrifugal water pump, the steel cone clutch with leather cover and, above all, the transition from chain to cardan shaft drive.
