On July 31 and August 1, 2021, Silverstone Auctions auctioned 128 cars, some motorcycles and automobiles as part of the Silverstone Classic. Almost 70 percent of the automobiles - racing cars, sports cars and some bread-and-butter vehicles, including some replicas - were knocked down, with an average of £ 70,934 realized per lot. Two barn/garage finds, a Porsche 356 and an Aston Martin V8, generated surprisingly high sales prices. Significantly more than expected was also paid for an Audi quattro, while some of the most valuable classics were left standing. This article reflects the mood on site, analyzes the results and shows many of the cars in pictures.
