A sales rate of 100 percent and total proceeds of almost 70 million Swiss Francs from just 42 cars on offer - the RM Sothebys auction in Zurich was an auction of superlatives. A Ferrari 400i Automatic was the only car to find a new owner for less than 100,000 francs. Its younger brother, the 412, however, managed to overcome this hurdle despite its automatic gearbox, more than doubling its estimated value to CHF 115,000. Even those who could easily afford these two cars must have felt like a pauper on October 11 at the Dolder Grand Hotel. 18 cars were sold for more than one million francs, four of them for over five million each.
