The Grand Prix Historique in Monaco takes place every two years and, as a particularly glamorous historic motorsport event, naturally provides the perfect setting for auctions. On May 12, 2018, RM/Sotheby's offered 85 cars and a boat with a total value of over EUR 41 million, including a BMW 3.0 CSL, a Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Lightweight and many small and large cult classics. While expensive Ferrari and cult classics disappointed, a Chevrolet Corvette and the Pope's Lamborghini caused bidding euphoria.
