An American auction was finally able to take place in front of an audience again, and the crowd at the RM Auburn Fall Auction from September 3 to 5, 2020 was enormous. 531 cars were auctioned off, and over 85% were sold. Around 17 million was realized, with interested parties paying an average of USD 37,382 per car sold. The highlights were two pre-war classics of American provenance, a 1935 Auburn and a 1936 Duesenberg. Five of the 10 most expensive cars sold at auction were from the pre-war period, while the other five were from the late 1940s to 1960s.
