No, this Piper has nothing to do with the most popular American aircraft brand, but was one of the many English sports car enthusiasts and, in this case, one that had hardly ever found its way into the "Automobil Revue". The brand was founded in 1966 by Campbells Garages in Hayes, Kent. However, Piper Cars Limited was founded the following year in Wokingham, Berkshire. From 1971, Embrook Engineering Limited was responsible for Piper sports cars at the same location, and another year later - and until the brand's demise in 1975 - there was Piper F. M. Limited in Ashford, Kent. As was usual with these sports cars designed as fast runabouts, the Pipers were designed for both road use and for use in the club races popular in England.
