The brand with the tongue-twisting name was created in Argentina in 1951 and was the product of the then new automobile department of the state-owned aircraft factory Aeronautica Argentina in Cordoba. The name Justicialista was intended to embody justice towards the people and was based on the ideology of the then dictatorial president Juan Peron. Justicialista was not the first "political brand". From the mid-thirties, for example, the Volkswagen aka KdF car ("Strength through Joy") was another such brand. At the other end of the scale, the ZIS = Zavod Imeni Stalina (Stalin Factory) was created after the Second World War as a luxury limousine for the Communist Party leadership in honor of Stalin.
