During the First World War, Giacinto Ghia rented a small workshop in Turin, from which a prestigious factory for special bodies and small-series sports cars emerged. Giacinto succumbed to illness in 1944, and his factory, which was rebuilt after the war, was taken to new heights by Felice Mario Boano and Luigi Segre. In 1950, the first contacts were made with Chrysler, and the mighty "Dreamcar" XX-500 was created on a Plymouth chassis. While Chrysler found a new chief designer in Virgil Exner, Luigi Segre took over the Ghia majority, and these two men went on to create a series of unique dream cars together. Some even went into small series production.
