Summary
The 56th Geneva Motor Show lasted from March 6 to 16, 1986. It was mainly the concept cars, e.g. from MG, Ford, Nissan, Toyota or Peugeot, that provided a good outlook on the future, while the production cars focused primarily on technological innovations, in particular the widespread installation of catalytic converters. This show review takes you through the innovations of 1986 in Geneva and shows them and a large number of other vehicles in 110 pictures.

At least they did so successfully, as the Automobil Revue reported at the time: "Research and industry, import and trade have overcome the emissions hurdle with flying colors. The Geneva show proves this once again. And it is therefore not surprising that the entire automotive industry looks back on the first hundred years with pride and satisfaction and tackles the second automotive secular with confidence."
