The 40th Geneva Motor Show, which welcomed almost half a million visitors from March 12 to 22, 1970, boasted many superlatives. World premieres included the Citroën SM, the Lamborghini Jarama 400 GT, the Monteverdi Hai and the Alfa Romeo Montreal V8, but there were also interesting innovations among the more affordable cars. Concept cars inspired people to dream. The mood was good, after all, things were only ever looking up. This Salon review takes you on a virtual tour of the Geneva exhibition and shows impressions and cars in over 200 historic photos, most of which have never been seen in high resolution before.
