There have been around 10,000 car brands and designers - most of which have disappeared. One of these vanished brands is Clénet, founded by French designer Alain Clénet. Designer Alain Clénet, who presented his first two-seater in 1976. This was successfully produced and sold and Clénet continued to produce up to the Series III. A legal dispute soon led to the closure of the factory. The successor company continued to produce the Series IV, but was unable to avoid bankruptcy a year later.
