Preview (beginning of the article)
The auction was scheduled for 14:00 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) on the last day of November and was hosted by Bonhams at its London headquarters on Bond Street. "Small but mighty" was the motto, as just 30 vehicles, including two motorcycles and an airplane, went under the hammer, albeit including rarities that you don't find every day. Around 12.7 million British pounds (CHF 19.3 million or 16 million euros) for 30 vehicles speaks for itself. On average, a vehicle changed hands for £ 511,098 (CHF 772,334 or Euro 642,647). So you can't really call this a bargain. 83% of the lots were sold, and the prices achieved were largely above expectations. The Bonhams team had every reason to be happy.
