Photo Gallery «Bonhams "The Golden Age of Motoring" Auction 2020 - Steam wins over gasoline»
At most auctions these days, cars are on average around 50 years old, but not on October 30, 2020, when Bonhams in London put 34 vehicles from "The Golden Age of Motoring" under the hammer. In fact, the vehicles were on average a hundred years old, with the year of construction ranging from 1900 to 1939. Exactly half of the veterans were sold, with the highest price being achieved by a steam-powered road locomotive, which sold for over one million euros. The older vehicles generally fared somewhat better. A total turnover of almost three million pounds was achieved. This auction review describes the atmosphere, analyzes the results and shows all the vehicles in pictures.
