Photo Gallery «Bonhams Quail Online Auction 2020 - little fortune for pre-war cars and super classics»
Bonhams brought a wide range of 99 classic cars worth almost USD 41 million under the hammer at the Quail Motorcar auction held online in Los Angeles on August 14, 2020 due to the cancellation of the Pebble Beach Concours. Although there was a great deal of interest, the bids were not always at the level hoped for, resulting in a sales rate of 61% and 60 cars ending up in new hands for a total of USD 12.5 million. The average bid was 70% of the median estimate. Bidders were particularly reluctant in the pre-war segment and for valuable cars, while more recent cars fared better, which was also due to the many offers that were auctioned without a reserve price. This auction report analyzes the results, lists sales prices/highest bids and shows the vehicles in pictures.
