Photo Gallery «Bonhams Amelia Island Auction 2019 - valuable veterans and affordable Ferraris»
Bonhams put 107 cars and a motorcycle under the hammer at the Fernandina Beach Golf Club on Amelia Island on March 7, 2019. The total value of the vehicles was estimated at almost USD 24 million. USD 15.4 million was realized and 82 percent of the vehicles were sold. The highest bid reached an average of 74 percent of the median estimate, with the early cars in particular - almost half of the cars were from the pre-war period - causing upward spikes. The most expensive car to find a new owner was a Cadillac V-16 Roadster from 1930, but the Brabham once driven by Ickx and Rindt also did respectably well. This auction article analyzes the results and shows the vehicles in pictures.
