There have been around 10,000 car brands and designers - most of which have disappeared. Bitter can also be counted among these vanished brands. Its founder, the cyclist and car racer Erich Bitter, initially built and sold tuning parts, later launching his own luxury coupé. He also tuned Opel models and created various prototypes for other brands.
