There have been around 10,000 car brands and designers - most of which have disappeared. One brand that can be counted among them is Austin. Its bestseller, the Austin Seven, helped the British No. 1 brand to great success, as did the later Mini. Most recently, Austin merged with the Nuffield Group to form the well-known British Motor Corporation (BMC).
