On November 4, 2018, Artcurial held its traditional auction near the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris for the 14th time. 78 vehicles were registered, 74 went under the hammer, including three motorcycles. 73 percent of the lots (54 vehicles) were successfully sold, resulting in a total turnover of EUR 4.7 million (CHF 5.4 million). EUR 87,548 or CHF 99,805 was paid on average, with the highest bids reaching an average of 81 percent of the median estimate. The auction began with a few minutes' delay, as always with a good-humored Hervé Poulain as auctioneer. The first vehicle on offer was a black VW Beetle 1302 LS Cabriolet from 1972, which once belonged to singer Sylvia Vartan. The artist was married to Johnny Hallyday and also filled large stadiums in the sixties and seventies.
