Dear readers, We in the writing and speaking guild actually suspected this from the moment it became clear that the reigning DRM champion Harald Ertl would become Hans Heyer's teammate at Zakspeed. Two alpha animals, two winning drivers at the same high level, plus equal opportunities for both with the Turbo-Capri fighting machine. A clash that could not have been more electrifying. The DRM season opener in the pouring rain at Zolder confirmed all the premonitions - Heyer in the black and yellow Mampe Capri and Ertl in the blue and white Sachs Capri got things going right from the start. Hair-raising overtaking maneuvers, contact and even a misunderstanding at the pit stop at Heyer's expense were the ingredients of the 24-lap battle. Ertl presented himself as a beaming winner with pole and the fastest lap, while Heyer was a contrite loser with an empty battery. Although team patron Erich Zakowski cheered loudly at the award ceremony, he didn't seem really happy.
