Joe and Toine Hezemans organized a very special race between Christmas and New Year 1970. The "Crazy Race", held with VW Beetles, was not won by the fastest, but by the wildest participant. Successful laps in oncoming traffic or hefty pile-ups were rewarded extra. The event was so spectacular that it was immediately banned for all time by the sports authorities. In this report, Rainer Braun remembers the wild race and shows some photos from back then.
