"Ford makes you mobile" - the company used this slogan to accompany its newly launched C 100 sports car project in the 1982 World Championship. But instead of the hoped-for victories over Porsche and Lancia, the "White Giant" became a long-term problem child. The Ford works drivers gave the car a very poor report card due to the extreme vibrations. Twelve years later, the Ford Mondeo did not fare much better - the Cologne racing touring car failed miserably and almost always lagged behind. Rainer Braun knows the whole story.
