On January 24, 2019, Charlie Lamm succumbed to his short but serious illness at the age of just 63. His death triggered a huge wave of sadness worldwide. Long deliberations were necessary to find a worthy obituary for this racer. Finally an article was found, written by Dieter Stappert, which could not be more fitting. With the kind permission of the Austrian "Auto-Revue", we have been allowed to use Stappert's impressions from Auto-Revue 9/1985 in our article.

Every motorsport newspaper, whether in print or online, dedicated entire pages to the man who was the face of Team Schnitzer. Long deliberations were necessary to find a worthy obituary for this racer. In the end, we found an article written by Dieter Stappert (October 13, 1942 to October 17, 2008) that could not be more fitting. With the kind permission of the Austrian" Auto-Revue ", we have taken Stappert's impressions from Auto-Revue 9/1985 and used a single race to give an insight into the life of Charlie Lamm:
