Summary
It's not every day that you get the chance to sit in a racing car in which Jo Siffert and Xavier Perrot once enjoyed success. The Chevron looks back on an eventful history, dating back to a time when racing drivers competed in several classes at the same time. This article focuses on the Chevron B18C, which was sold in small numbers at the beginning of the 1970s, and shows it in current and historical photographs.

In 1971, just two days after the Spanish GP in Montjuïc on April 18, Jo Siffert held a small press conference in his garage in Fribourg, where he presented his new racing team and explained that he had become the representative for the English racing car manufacturer Chevron in continental Europe. Jo Siffert imported two Formula 2 Chevron B18s for Switzerland. He subsequently drove chassis no. 71-3 mostly himself, while he sold the monoposto with no. 71-2 to Xavier Perrot. Although he already had a fairly full calendar with his Formula 1 commitment with BRM and the contract with Porsche for the one-make world championship, he also took part in various Formula 2 races in Europe and South America at the wheel of this Chevron B18 (chassis no. B18-71-03) in 1971.
