Lehmann-Gräve sent us memories of a unique event in Bonn that probably took place in 1970. In the 1960s, as a racing enthusiast and photographer for the school newspaper, I attended as many events as possible in and around Bonn, where I lived at the time. In the evenings, the bathroom was transformed into a darkroom. Fortunately for the family, there was a second toilet. The next morning, the best photos were sent to relevant motoring newspapers such as ralley&racing. A few of the prints brought a small fee as compensation for my expenses. As it is said that you shouldn't turn your hobby into a profession, I decided with a heavy heart not to pursue a career as a photographer after graduating from high school, but became "sensible" and studied.
