What was a trip from Lucerne to Basel like 120 years ago? Today, you simply drive onto the highway and activate cruise control. But at the beginning of the 20th century, the almost 100-kilometer route was still a real challenge. The "Lucerne to Basel Veteran Run", which will be held for the first time on June 23, 2024, is a reminder of the pioneering days of the automobile in Switzerland - even if the roads today are much better than they were back then.
